With the warm weather finally arriving and sunny days ahead, Waterloo Region has a myriad of events to make your summer even better. Whether you're a longtime resident or new to the area, let’s look at events perfect for enjoying the warm weather, connecting with neighbors, and making lasting memories.

Campfire Nights in Uptown Waterloo

One of the highlights of summer in Waterloo is the Campfire series at Waterloo Public Square. On select Wednesdays these next few months, from 6 to 8 p.m., you can gather around the campfire with friends and neighbors to enjoy live music, games, and more. It's a wonderful way to spend a warm summer evening under the stars.

June 18th, July 16th, and August 20th

These campfires are free and open to all ages, so grab a blanket and head to Uptown for a cozy and fun-filled evening!

Art Markets  

Waterloo Public Square also hosts the Art Market select Fridays from 5 to 9 p.m., featuring handmade goods from local artists and live music from 7 to 9 p.m. It's a perfect spot to find unique gifts, meet some new local artists, or simply enjoy the vibrant atmosphere on balmy summer evenings.

Dance It Off Tuesdays

Dance It Off Tuesdays bring lively dance sessions to the square every Tuesday from 7 to 10 p.m., with different styles each week. Whether you're a seasoned dancer or a beginner, it's a fun way to get moving and meet new people. K-Pop, Chinese Square, and East Coast Swing are all offered on these fun and active Tuesdays.

Caribana Ignite

This summer, experience the vibrant culture of the Caribbean at Caribana Ignite in Downtown Kitchener from August 22 to 23. Enjoy colorful costumes, lively music, and spirited dancing that celebrate tradition and identity. The festival kicks off with a free Family Glow Party followed by a grand Carnival parade and performances throughout the weekend. 

Cambridge Celebration of the Arts

Mark your calendars for Friday, June 13, where from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m., city hall comes alive with creativity at the Cambridge Celebration of the Arts. This annual event, now in its 21st year, is a vibrant showcase of local talent, bringing together artists, performers, and the community for an evening of artistic expression and cultural celebration. Local restaurants, vendors, and performers come together to make an unforgettable evening!
